Multi unit living

Having lived in other cities - I hope to be able to prove to Aucklander's that mixed use and multi unit developments will improve the fabric of our city.










This was a large retirement development, planned under a Special Housing Area designation. As the architect, I was to meet a minimum of 6-star level from the New Zealand Green Building Council Homestar Tool. All standard apartments had a northern aspect, with views over a large inner city green space. A Green roof formed the outlook for the tower units over the garden apartments at the edge of the green space. One tower, seen in the most westerly position - comprised of smaller units to meet both the affordable benchmark set in the SHA rules, and accommodated residents requiring semi-assisted living. These units enjoyed an east / west orientation.
